Food Industry Asia (FIA) is a non-profit organisation that was formed in 2010 to enable major food manufacturers to speak with one voice on complex issues such as health & nutrition, food safety and the harmonisation of standards. From its base in Singapore, FIA seeks to enhance the industry’s role as a trusted partner and collaborator in the development of science-based policy throughout Asia. To do so means acting as a knowledge hub for Asia’s national industry associations and affiliated groups to support with their engagement of public bodies and other stakeholders across the region.
In an effort to bring the industry’s decision makers closer together, Food Vision Asia will coincide with the Council Meeting and Annual General Meeting of Food Industry Asia (FIA) and the Asia roundtable on Food Innovation for Improved Nutrition (ARoFIIN).
FIA members (& AFBA member organisations) benefit from a 35% discount on registration.
Matt Kovac, Executive Director FIA, says the partnership offers a great opportunity for Food Vision Asia participants to find out more about the work currently undertaken by FIA to promote the views of the food and drink industry in Asia to support the development of public policy, using science-based advocacy as its foundation, especially in the area of health and nutrition and trade.
“Our mission, to represent the food & beverage industry in Asia – promoting a climate for sustainable growth and serving as a regional knowledge hub for science-based advocacy, is built on the foundation of public-private partnerships, and Food Vision Asia presents us all with the opportunity to highlight the contribution being made by the industry in Asia to ensure safer and more nutritious food and bring in harmonised standards in the region,” he said.
